Is there any correlation between von Willebrand disease and abnormal sodium levels?
For as long as I can remember, I have always battled sodium issues. I remember when I was active in athletics in high school, for instance, and I used to drink 3-4 times as much water or Gatorade (or whatever was available) as other athletes. Over and over again my coaches said I was most probably diabetic. I was tested for diabetes a multiplicity of times. The results always came back negative.
I’m still battling the same sodium issues at 50 years of age. My face and extremities are regularly puffy. My primary doctor (internal medicine specialist) has prescribed triamterene and hydrochlorothiazide for water retention, but they don’t seem to make a lot of difference.
Thanks for all replies!
