Hi everyone! My name is Cassandra, 5 years ago, during a surgery we discovered i have VWD type 2, but since then, doctor never talk to me about it, and what that implied.
I noticed some long bleeding and things like that but it was no big deal.
Then 6 months ago i started thinking of getting a boobs job, everything was going well until the anaesthetist start wondering how it would go because of my disease. The weird part it, it was not the first one doctor i saw, and now the surgery is kind of cancelled because they think that in any way it will go wrong. But i honestly think they do not know the disease as they were ok for 5 months.
So here is my question, is there some person here that had a breast implant, and if there is, how did it go ? did VWD change something during or after the surgery ?

Yes, it is possible to have plastic surgery if one has VWD. The plastic surgeon needs to work closely with the HTC or your hematologist.
After prophylactic mastectomies, I had reconstruction by plastic surgery. It went very well.
